Sondra LaVoie Mrs. Tri-Counties Uniquely Me Program
Sondra Mrs. Tri Counties just emailed me here is what she had to say:
Mandi,
Every Friday at lunch I take an hour to mentor some amazing 5th grade girls using the Uniquely Me program. This fantastic program helps the girls understand why we have standards and values in our relationship, our friends and ourselves. The past few weeks we worked on a project called “Ladies under construction.” The girls bring awareness to the values, morals and standards that they are building to be contributing ladies of their communities. We have a saying in our meetings that is taken from a poem: As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

Mrs. Treasure Valley Sonya Hoadley and Flat Stanley
Sonya just emailed me about her 2nd grades project with Flat Stanley here is what she told me:
In my classroom we have started the "Flat Stanley" project. Flat Stanley is a book by Jeff Brown and in the story the little boy gets flattened out and is able to travel all around in an envelope! Our class gets to decorate their own Flat Stanley's and send him
to work with their parents, to friends or relatives across the US, or just to interesting people they know. I got an exciting package in the mail yesterday from another school in Boise... it was a Flat Stanley that wanted to hang out with MRS. TREASURE VALLEY! Since my class is doing the same project, I brought him to my school and showed my students. Our classroom's Flat Stanley got to meet the "Boise Flat Stanley" and we had a great time filling out his journal. For more information on the Flat Stanley Project, please visit http://www.flatstanleyproject.com/.
Hugs!

Sondra LaVoie Mrs. Tri Counties and Big Brother Big Sister
Sondra LaVoie Mrs. Tri-Counties sent me this email about Big Brother Big Sister:
Kaylene (My little sister thru BBBS) and I attended a Big Brother and Big Sister event at the Qwest Arena to support our local basketball team the Idaho Stampede. We attended the game with other BBBS matches from the program and boy can those kids get excited. It is a pleasure to represent both Big Brothers and Big Sisters in the pageant and bring attention to the pageant at the Stampede game!

Jill Knapp Mrs. Nampa emailed me yesterday and shared these pictures with me from her appearance at Anytime Fitness :
Tonight I was honored to be the guest speaker at the Anytime Fitness Biggest Loser Contest educational night. I shared my story and helped get the contestants motivated to begin their journey of the biggest loser challenge. My fitness trainer Rebecca Carington spoke to the group of contestants as well. It was a great night and I was glad I was invited to speak. :-)
